![]() Maps, diagrams, and other tools have been deployed by Sound Transit in order to assist riders in navigating the new North Seattle light rail stations. A new name for the Central Link line is the Link 1 Line, and a new name for the Sounder Line (S Line) and the T Line (T Line) for the Tacoma Link. Train platforms will be island-inspired, and trains will open their doors in relation to the direction of the train. The new Northgate Link extension is expected to open on October 2nd, and three new stations will be added to the Sound Transit network over the next few years. Tickets are valid for use at ticket vending machines (cash or credit/debit) and through the Transit Go app. It will be possible to carry 776 riders seated and standing on each set of trainset. The light rail line will now have three more stations with the 4.3-mile extension. The Transit Rider’s Guide to the Northgate Link Light Rail Extension will be available on October 2nd. The light rail is above ground and has stops at the Northgate Mall, Northgate Transit Center, and University of Washington. The Northgate light rail goes from the Northgate neighborhood in Seattle to the University of Washington.
